Disappointment of the Year

This year I have reviewed many incredible products! Some incredible products that didn’t win, but still need to be mentioned: The Shred Belt, Youfresh Naturals, The Powerball, The footballer, the beastie ball, SFH So3d3, Deer Antler Velvet and many many others! Check out all the reviews here on this site!

And now on to the awards!

Bonus Supplement of the Year: What is the bonus of the year? Well; it’s the supplement that makes a world of difference that doesn’t quite fit in any of the categories! And the award goes to: Wheatgrass

There’s too many great things to say about wheatgrass! You have to check out my post here on this site!

Best Tasting Supplement of the Year: many can enter but only one can win! I truly enjoyed all the nut butters and coconut butter this year but one was slightly above all! And the award goes to: PB Crave

This stuff tastes amazing! Every flavor is rich and delectable! Try them all! Hey PB Crave how about a cinnamon raisin?

Stack of the year: This years Stack of the Year challenge was a Fat Burner coupled with a Test Booster to try and stop muscle loss when going on an extreme low carb diet. The results were amazing! And the award goes to: Shredz Fat Burner and Testosterone formally: Shredz and Diezel

BCAA of the Year: And the award goes to: BPI Sports Best BCAAs

Protein of the Year: And the award goes to: Bio-gro although its not quite protein, its Colestrum it’s made from milk and therefore qualifies! Bio-gro has added value to my protein shakes! Try it!

Best Grass Fed All Natural Whey Protein of the Year: and the award goes to: Body Logix Natural Isolate All Natural Whey

Best Alternative Protein of the Year: and the award goes to: Rice Protein by Growing Naturals I believe that adding multiple sources of protein equals greater uptake in the body. Rice Protein probably absorbs slower than Whey Isolate making my shake a time released protein shake! That’s awesome!

Fat Burner of the Year: And the award goes to: Shredz

Teatox Challenge Teatox of the Year: and the award goes to: Mate Fit

Disappointment of the Year: There is only one hands down winner here!

This one even beat last years loser: the fitbody wrap – the fitbody wrap didn’t hurt me!

The loser is: SARMS!

Do not take SARMS! Stay away! What is supposed to have no side effects poisoned me and 6 other people I know! All of us had the same side effects: high blood pressure and high cholesterol plus weight gain! I would like to sue the manufacturer so if there’s a health care attorney that’s reading this, I have a case for you!

• Multi-directional roll provides focused massage to target areas
• Deep tissue massage:
1) Reduces muscle fatigue and tightness
2) Promotes flexibility
3) Enhances performance

5″ diameter high density ball provides aggressive deep tissue massage to:
IT Band, Hamstring, Quadriceps, Calf, plus more

7″ diameter high density ball provides moderate deep tissue massage to:
IT Band, Hamstring, Quadriceps, Back, plus more

pro-tecathletics.com

The balls are super lightweight dense foam. They don’t require pumping up.

Because they are super lightweight and foam, I am not sure about durability. If you have a dog, keep it away or it will be in pieces!

I can’t wait to try them as they are much larger then a lacrosse ball and much different then a roller!

Pro-tec also offers a wide array of massage and physical therapy tools! Check them out for all your needs! Their prices are reasonably inexpensive also!

**Update** April 23rd 2014
I tried the Orbs today! The larger ball was awkward and I didn’t like it! The smaller ball however; felt awesome! I love it! It felt crazy good under my hamstring! I didn’t have much time, so stay tuned for more!

20140304-180530.jpg

Well here I go! Just finished my back day and now cold Lat rolling! (Not taking my shirt off! Not the first time lol)

OMG! I started doing my lats and it felt sooo good I ended up doing my entire body!! Entire legs, lats, rear delt, bis, forearms and my neck and traps!

I feel so refreshed! And relaxed! I love the cold compression! Especially; after working out!

**Update** March 5th 2014
Today is leg day and my legs feel amazing! The Rumble Roller did a number on my legs a few days ago and it hurt for 3 days! Then all pain went away! Before that I was taking 3 Aleve 2xs a day for knee pain. Then with the advent of the Cold Roller yesterday, today they feel amazing! I have a huge bruise on the inside of my left Quad on the year drop that I think the Rumble Roller did as I was learning to adjust the pressure, so today I will not go heavy on leg day. Now that I know how to minimize pressure and use the Cold Roller, Rumble Roller and Beastie Bar; that won’t happen again! Next week I will be using the total body kit: Footballer, Quadballer etc…

I can already tell you I will not like the TP balls, as the beastie is the balls x2, but Trigger Point is super smart and ingenious! They have invented a sleeve that you place both balls into and it turns them into the peanut! I have never used a peanut and I heard it is really cool, so I can’t wait to use the peanut! Remember what I said earlier; do not discard your tools as one day you may be too sensitive for one of the tools; so one day I may be too sensitive for the Beasties and need the TP Ball. I can safely say that I can give away my lacrosse ball though!

Furthermore; it’s awesome how versatile the tools are and it goes from 2 separate balls to the peanut instead of having to buy another device! I will also try to put both Beasties in the sleeve, but I don’t think they will fit. I haven’t opened the sleeve to see how big it is.

I also saw a picture of someone using 2 rumble rollers one under the upper back and one under the legs. I will take the Rumble Roller and the M80 Roller and attempt to recreate it and tell you how it feels!

**Update** April 19th 2014
Broke out the Cold Roller today to freak out my niece (8yrs old). She just got finished with the Rumble Roller and the Grid so I broke out the Cold Roller and she was like ahhhhh it’s sooo Cold! It was in the freezer ☺️

But she rolled it on her lats and hamstrings and calves lol

Then I used it for a while. Absolutely love this Roller it’s my absolute favorite, but I only use it when I am sore to soothe my body (lats, upper and lower legs and arms)

The Rumble Roller is my favorite Roller, the M80 roller is my favorite travel roller and the grid is my favorite my back is sore Roller. I haven’t used the Y-roller yet, so I can’t comment on that yet.

If I need specialized targeted area attention I have the beastie bar and beasties.

I still haven’t tried the Orbs so I can’t comment on those either.

The Beastie Hook to me is worthless. I don’t use it.

Buy the Cold Roller!!

Product Review: The Total Body Kit – by Trigger Point Performance *

(This post is delayed a little due to spraining my knee doing cardio)

**Update** April 25th 2014
I am watching the DVD and let me tell you it’s awesome!! It shows a whole bunch of movements I have never done like the Psoas & Piriformis

I did the full soleus, calf and the Antierior Tibialis and I feel amazing!

Then I did the pecs and it relieved tension off my shoulder and I feel great!

I tried to do the lats but my lats are too big and I’m too barrel chested to reach and it too awkward on the wall so I will stick to my cold roller on the floor!

Tomorrow I will do my quads and hamstrings!

I’m going to tell you not its not going to happen daily! However; I will play with doing the body parts I workout that same day and I will try 1 & 2 days offset. Stay tuned for those reviews here on this total body post!

There’s a tip section on DVD 2. I am going to try the car tip on my next long trip to the Air Force. Stay tuned for the reveal!

One thing I was disappointed about in the total body DVD was no shoulders and neck!

I found that using the quadballer in bed is better to start; as the bed gives when you put all your weight on the quadballer and it’s much more forgiving then rolling on a hard floor over your quads especially the outer Charlie-horse area. I suggest using it that way first to desensitize your legs before moving to the unforgiving floor!

Product Review: The Grid – by Trigger Point Performance *

20140304-200603.jpg
Pictured on the left

Initial review:
I took the Grid, the Everlast (Grid knockoff) and the M80 Roller and compared them:

20140304-200724.jpg
Grid is 4″ inside diameter
Everlast is 4 3/16″
M80 is 4″

The foam on the grid is twice as firm as the foam on the Everlast and the grid has 2 distinct patterns the wide and the narrow section.

This is my recipe for success:
The Grid is a perfect beginner roller, the extra padding will help when starting rolling as the extra padding will help when your muscles are sensitive.

The M80 Roller is not a beginner Roller! I suggest starting with the Grid, the when the muscles are desensitized move to the (Advanced) M80 Roller then once a week use the Deep penetration of the (Super Advanced) Rumble Roller and Beasties! It’s my finding that the Rumble Roller is too aggressive for daily use. My legs still hurt from my initial roll!

Start with the grid, let your back align and use the extra padding under your hips and let your hip flexors stretch and open up. Then move to the (Advanced) M80 Roller for daily maintenance (Once you can handle it).

Then; once a week go for extreme deep tissue with the (Super Advanced) Rumble Roller and Beasties.

That’s everything except Post Workout! Post Workout hit your legs and lats with the Cold Roller! For Cold Compression and Deep Tissue Massage.

Now; do not discard your grid once you move up to the M80 roller! There will be days when you are extra sore and need that extra padding!

Now; there’s always times when you need extra tools such as the Footballer, the Beasties and Beastie Bar! The TP Baller Block can be used with the Footballer, Beasties and Beastie Bar.

When it comes to your body, do not be loyal to one company! Use all the different companies and make your own kit for success! All their tools can be used interchangeably! They all compliment each other! That’s the beauty of these companies! They don’t compete with each other; they enhance each other!

There’s your recipe for a strong pain free (not when you are doing it! It sucks when rolling lol) healthy body!

**Update** April 19th 2014
This is my favorite in home roller. I like the spikes! My niece (8yrs old) used the Rumble Roller today and had a ball doing it. She was pretty good at it, but she said AHHH it hurts lol while giggling. Then she switched to the grid and used that one in her back, lats and legs and I used the Rumble Roller, then she tried a beastie and said ahh that’s got spikes! 😦 lol but she tried it lol

The Grid was much easier for her to use, and surprisingly her form was pretty good! She made me proud!

Product Review: Mobility Tools – Beastie Ball Kit by Rumble Roller *

I was expecting just the ball and an entire kit with DVD showed up! I am doing a superset workout at the gym today so I can rush home and watch the DVD I am so psyched! I know how to use the products except the Beastie Bar! That looks like a torture device 😳😱😭

What’s in my Beastie Kit you ask?

20140303-183430.jpg
Of course the Regular & Firm Beastie Balls!

20140303-183545.jpg
And the Beastie Bar & Beastie Hook!

20140303-183926.jpg
And Jeff Alexander’s SMR Tips DVD (see it’s separate post here on this site)

I used a Beastie Ball for a split second and I can already tell you my days of a cheap lacrosse ball are over! This Beastie hurts so good! Is that what John Cougar Mellencamp was singing about?

Rumble Rollers bringing back the 80’s 😳

I did my entire legs with the Rumble Roller and let me tell you I feel great. However; some parts were excruciating because of my size. If you are over 225lbs I suggest using the Beastie Bar or I call it the Beastie Wand. It’s much easier to roll your entire quads: Teardrop, inner Quads, outer Quads and IT Band with the wand applying as little or as much pressure as needed rather than gravity dictating pressure! My Quads are also on fire and super sore from leg-day today!

**Update** March 3rd 2014
I am loving my Beastie Bar aka Beastie Wand! Because it’s just simply magical! My legs felt like a million bucks today at the gym and just a minute ago my shoulder was aching bad and I rolled it out against the wall with the wand on the stands and now it feels great! The pain is gone! Simply Magical! 👌

Product Review: Mobility Tools – Rumble Roller – Deep Tissue Massage Roller *

20140224-121123.jpg

20140228-151033.jpg

Initial inspection:
This things huge! It dwarfs my m80 roller! Which I will use when I go away because it fits easily in my gym bag. Ts also much firmer than I thought! I expected the spikes to be softer. I first laid on it on my upper back I usually start at the low back and allow my back to stretch around the roller. Then I go lightly by my lung/kidney area and then roll up. With this I put it across my upper back by rhomboids and I yelled AHHH!! It hurt like a torture device! But then I got used to it and it felt weirdly cool.

What I would do is use a standard roller such as the M80 roller or the Grid and align everything and let your back crack and align once ready switch to the rumble roller for deep spiky penetrated rolling.

I would not use this as your only sole roller.

Stay tuned for performance review.
