Fitness DVD Review: Scott Steiner’s Freak Show: The Big Poppa Pump Workout

This DVD is F’N Amazing!!!!!!

Scott Steiner is ridiculously strong!! in one scene the guy is doing Lateral Front Raises with a 135lb barbell like its nothing! He does a 495lb bench press for reps with no help! All lifts are Natural (meaning no help, no weight-belt, no bench-press shirt, no wraps, he has one neoprene elbow wrap that’s it!) I was always a Scott Steiner fan, but now more than ever! This DVD rocks that much!! BUY IT!!

The Advanced workout routine is killer!! I love it!

This is one of the only workout DVDs (and trust me I have a ton of them, my overall DVD collection: Movies, Martial Arts Training, and Workout DVD’s total well over 1K) with a Nutrition segment! That is Awesome!!!! because it is the most important factor and is often overlooked.

Summary:

1. Total assault workout!

2. beginner, intermediate and advanced program

3. rare nutrition segment

4. bloopers and outtakes

5. sponsors page

6. Disclaimer: The Freak section where he shows off is a little racy because of interaction with his helpers, but for the easily offended this section can be skipped, but the feats of strength are worth the act. Remember its all an act. He’s a really nice guy.

7. THIS DVD WILL MAKE YOU GROW!

Personal Trainers: Money wisely spent or flushing it down the toilet?

Large gym franchises: are their personal trainers worth the money?
Some sessions at large gyms run as much as $60 a half hour and you
have to buy multiple sessions. Is it really worth it? Here are a few
tips to save you from wasting your money.

First let’s look at the obvious personality traits:

The Fat Trainer – look at your trainer from head to toe. I see this a
lot and I am amazed!! Why would you hire a trainer that is more out of
shape then you are? Do you really think he or she can motivate you,
when they can’t even motivate themselves? Unless, they have a degree
in exercise science do you really think they can help you? I’m not
talking about a guy with giant muscles and a little belly I’m talking
about a guy or girl with little to no muscle and is fatter than you.
What results do you expect to get? “well he was nice to me” …so
what! It’s your money! You don’t want someone nice! You want someone
that’s going to bust your ass to the breaking point and give you
results for your hard earned money.

The perv – “That trainer looks good let me train with him.” “So how
was it? Was he a good trainer?” ” No he was staring at my ass the
whole time and making rude comments.” …If your trainer makes you
feel uncomfortable you will not want to go to the gym and you may even
try to avoid him and make up excuses why you can’t go. Listen; again
it’s your body and your money! Just tell him yeah, I don’t think it’s
going to work out I’m looking for a different style of workout. Thank
you anyway. Then, you can decide if you want to tell his boss about
his unprofessional attitude.

Lastly, you have the I don’t know what the fuck I’m doing trainer. You
can’t spot them out unless you look and ask questions. Meet with your
trainer before you start. Talk to them ask questions, discuss your
workout plan, your goals and how they are going to get you to those
goals. If they say you are going to stand on one foot and lift light
weights or use power bands (unless you are rehabbing an injury) tell
them to get lost! Use the power bands at home or when you are on the
road and don’t have access to a gym. Also, if they tell you to go run
and warm up or try to put you on any cardio during your session tell
them to get lost! You can come in early or stay late for that you
don’t need to be paying a trainer for that! That’s some tricks asshole
trainers use. If You never used the machine and they are showing you
how to operate it or coaching you on your running ex: lengthen your
stride, run on the balls of your feet etc. Then it’s ok, but tell them
this isn’t going to be a habit once I understand I will run on my own.

If you want to build muscle there are 7 core exercises:
Squat
Deadlift
Benchpress
Military Press
Lat Pulldown
Straightbar Curl
Triceps Pushdown

If most of them aren’t in your
workout, you are wasting your time!
There are a few others but these are the core ones
Others include:
Lunges
Power cleans
Dips
Pushups
Pullups
Barbell rows
Upright rows
Etc..

Heavy multi-joint movements (they activate more muscle fibers and in
turn burn more calories)
6-8 reps 3-5 sets is where it’s at. Not standing on one foot doing
curls for 30 reps. Don’t get me wrong I also do light weight, high
reps but at the end, like the 5th set just to burn out the muscle.

And for the light weight, high reps to get cut up… Bullshit! It’s a
myth! When you build more muscle the body burns more fat. The reason
the myth started is because typically when using really heavy weight
the rest times tend to be longer and with shorter rest times, more
reps and faster speed you get a pseudo-cardio workout and burn more
calories. So you think!! The heavy, heavy workouts burn more calories
but leave you so drained that you must eat and your appetite is much
bigger so you tend to over eat.

Summary:
1. Be wary of your new trainer don’t just settle for the first one you
call on the phone or the first one that talks to you. Interview them.
It’s their job!! Weren’t you interviewed for your job?

2. Ask the right questions! Qualifications, how will you get me to my
goal, Do I need to see a dietitian, what kinds of exercises will we be
doing, can I mix up my cardio one day do elliptical, one day do
treadmill, one day do a class like spinning or Zumba. That’s another
thing when they say vary your cardio they don’t mean all in the same
day!! Don’t do 10 min here and 10 min there and 10 min there. That’s
not cardio!!! You have to sustain your elevated heart-rate for 20 min
straight minimum! Preferably 45 min. Not stop go, stop go, stop go.

3. Cardio isn’t all! You can’t just come in and take Zumba 3 times a
week and expect results. You need to add moderate weight training. Why
do you think you see skinny fat people. They loose the weight but
don’t have the muscle to burn it all off so they get skinny but they
are still fat. Ex: anorexic girls they starve themselves to death
cause they still see flaws in their figure like love-handles! They
can’t get rid of them because they don’t have muscle and they have a
poor metabolism.

4. Proper nutrition is key! It’s 90% what you eat and how much and 10%
what you do. Popeye was right! “you are what you eat”

So lift to 65-70% of your max and get big! Ladies lower that a little
like 50-60% not one plate!! You are fooling yourself! You WON’T and
CAN’T wake up looking like the Hulk the next day! You will see
yourself starting to get bigger and if you are starting to get too big
then tone it down a notch! A notch, not turn it off!!!!

***Make sure if you are just starting off or just starting off after a
little break, that you start off slowly!! You will get sore!!

And hydrate!!!!!!!! ***

Good Luck!

I saw a Trainer and client together, I heard the clients goals, to get big! Guess what the Trainer had him doing??????

he had him against the pole in the gym with a powerband around the pole!!! SEE the IDKWTFID trainer above !
