Gym Gear – Products that should be in every Guy and Girls Gym Bag! *

When going to the gym there are tools you should always have in your bag. Don’t rely on the gym having them and sometimes it’s just plain nasty to share! Then there are also recommended items that are a luxury to have.

Guys Gym Bag:

Wrist wraps:

20140223-204550.jpg

Wrist Straps:

20140223-204831.jpg
Flexsolate straps:

20140223-202604.jpg
You can leave the book and DVD at home. This are incredible for face pulls (high row) and for burning out a body part especially after your TGrips (below) burn out your grip!

Ironbull TGrips (optional, but highly beneficial):

20140223-202840.jpg
Al1ve Magnetics (optional, but highly supportive):

20140223-203052.jpg

20140223-203057.jpg

20140223-203103.jpg
Weight Belt (Optional, due to preference)

20140223-211806.jpg
I personally am trying not to rely on a belt, but if you want a belt, but the best! Cardillo!

Protein Shaker with 2 scoops ETB:

20140223-203414.jpg
Smart Shakers are ideal, because you can carry preworkout, protein & post workout like vitargo or vitamins/supplements

Water Bottle:
Smart Shaker can take the place of your water bottle also after you finish your preworkout refill with water. Water is essential to a good workout!

Gym Boss interval timer (Optional, but makes life easier):

20140224-095908.jpg
Makes life easier to do intervals and preserves the battery life on your phone, by using a handy dandy little device to track and time your intervals and it uses one long lasting AAA battery.

I’m military, so I’m a prepper. No not like the crazy guys on tv, but it’s good to be prepared! Emergency items that should be in your gym bag:

Multi-tool

20140223-203856.jpg

Small First Aid kit – band aids, alcohol pad/antiseptic cream to clean cut , Advil/Aleve for pain and Benedryl in case you have an allergic reaction to something.

20140223-203947.jpg

20140223-204022.jpg
Emergency Can of Tuna and metal fork (I hate plastic!) you never know what might happen and you need the proper nutrition in a pinch!

Travel deodorant, toothbrush and toothpaste

A little spare change

If you have a knee injury I suggest:

20140224-112544.jpg
A McDavid knee strap, but remember to check with your doctor first!

I also recommend a gym bag in a gym bag! Use a mesh laundry bag to air out your products and don’t zip it all the way shut at home so your gear airs out!

20140224-112909.jpg
For your Al1ve Magnetics, Under Armour etc..

If you are allowed carbs then a shaker with Vitargo the king of carbs!

Headphones: if you like to listen to outside music. I myself do not like anything in my ears when I am training.

Girls Gym Bag:
Gloves – you want to keep your sexy soft hands

Ankle straps:

20140223-175055.jpg
Essential to do kickbacks to build tone and tighten your butt. You can also do inner and outer thighs on the cable cross.

These straps typically have fur inside to cut down on friction and cushion the straps. Who wants to use someone’s else’s sweat soaked straps yuk!

Al1ve Magnetics (optional, but highly supportive):
(See pics above)

Protein Shaker with ETB:
(See above)

Water Bottle:
(See above)

Gym Boss interval timer (Optional, but makes life easier):
(See above)

Small First Aid kit – band aids, alcohol pad/antiseptic cream to clean cut , Advil/Aleve for pain and Benedryl in case you have an allergic reaction to something.
(See above)

Multitool
(See above)

Emergency Can of Tuna, can opener (that’s why you have the multitool) and metal fork (I hate plastic!) you never know what might happen and you need the proper nutrition in a pinch!

Travel deodorant, toothbrush and toothpaste

In case you wear high heels and forget your socks, always have an extra pair of socks in your gym bag just in case!

Headphones: if you like to listen to outside music. I myself do not like anything in my ears when I am training.

A little spare change

Recipe: Homemade ETB Low Calorie/Low Carb/Low Fat Peanut Butter Cups

20140129-233810.jpg

Get a nonstick tray or cupcake papers
Take 3 scoops protein powder
I used 2 scoops Protizyme by Metabolic Nutrition: chocolate cake and 1 peanut butter cookie (because I didn’t have ETB Chocolate)
6 tbsp of 0% plain Greek Yogurt.
3tbsp organic cocoa powder
5tbsp of water

8tbsp of PB2
6tbsp water

Mix the Protein Powder, Yogurt, cocoa powder and water in a bowl and make sure it’s thin enough to pour may need a little bit more water.

Take the tray and spray it with nonstick spray just in case!

Pour a little bit of the mixture on the bottom of each spot.

Then in a separate bowl mix the PB2
And water till it’s thin enough to pour and then pour all mixture on top of the started chocolate

Then cover the PB2 with the remaining chocolate mixture.

Put in the freezer for 15min or until done and enjoy!

Keep frozen for the best taste!

Eat the Bear Protein

20140202-191210.jpg

Pictured size took 45min to freeze and almost a full jar of PB2!

**Note**
You might want to add a little Xylitol to the Chocolate mix or use Vanilla yogurt instead of plain.

They came out good, but would have been healthier and tastier if I had Chocolate ETB!

Recipe: ETB & Muscle Egg (perfect together) Low Carb/Low Calorie/Fat Free Ice Cream

Recipe courtesy of our Reader:
Rick Tourgee and tweaked by Me.

2 Scoops (ETB) Cinnamon Bun mixed with 1 cup Egg Beaters

Mix well and place in Freezer 30-60 min

My Tweak: Throw out the nasty Chemically egg beaters and replace with: Any Flavor Muscle Egg! For Cinnamon Bun Ice Cream use one cup of Organic Muscle Egg!

You can’t beat that!

Mr Hyde Not yet reviewed here! But coming!

Which brings us to The Supplement of the Year!

Supplement of the Year:

If you only can afford one supplement and it’s something you can’t live without! That would be protein! Especially at over 200-250 pounds!

In order to build muscle you need 1.5grams of protein per pound of body weight. For me at 260lbs that’s 390g of protein! Grilled Chicken thanks to our livestrong my plate app (reviewed here) is 22.4g of protein per cutlet we are going to round down to 22g that’s 17.7 rounded up: 18! I need to eat 18 chicken cutlets a day to build muscle!

1. I don’t want to eat 18 cutlets a day nor do I think I can!

2. I definitely can’t afford 18 cutlets a day! 12 cutlets at BJ’s is $20-24 and that’s only 12!

So you see protein supplementation is vital!

So the award goes to:
Muscle Egg!

20131231-130645.jpg

1 cup is equal to a dozen egg whites and the best part is: for an active lifestyle you just pour and drink, rinse cup and run! That’s it!

Congratulations to Muscle Egg Supplement of the Year!
Check out the review here!

Muscle Egg is also honorable mention for best tasting supplement of the year!
