Why do I blog? I like to think I am helping people by bringing topics not everyone knows about or on the controversy side, topics they don’t want to talk about.

However, I wish more people would comment, so it becomes a discussion and not more of a lecture/presentation. Everyone feel free to comment about the topic at hand. Comments such as you are great and I love your blog find their way into the spam box and deleted. Comment about the topic tell me your thoughts and feelings, if you add in you are great and I love your blog…so be it lol Consequently if you say, hey you suck and have details why I suck that will also be posted lmao!

As for the themes I chose: Read the about me section to see how they pertain to me.

As for the Blog itself, I have posted comments to questions about it, I will reiterate that here: Yes it is currently a free wordpress hosted blog, I used a theme and altered it in photoshop where I created the buttons on the right side.

As for Content: Pick a topic/topics that you are passionate about and/or a subject matter expect about and research about it (don’t forget to footnote where you got the research) and just write about it!

If you build it others will come lol

Ebenezer Scrooge or poor economy?

Ebenezer Scrooge is the principal character in Charles Dickens’s 1843 novel, A Christmas Carol. At the beginning of the novel, Scrooge is a cold-hearted, tight-fisted and greedy man, who despises Christmas and all things which give people happiness. Dickens describes him thus: “The cold within him froze his old features, nipped his pointed nose, made his eyes red, his thin lips blue, and he spoke out shrewdly in his grating voice …” His last name has come into the English language as a byword for miserliness and misanthropy, traits displayed by Scrooge in the exaggerated manner for which Dickens is well-known. The tale of his redemption by the three Ghosts of Christmas (Ghost of Christmas Past, Ghost of Christmas Present, and Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come) has become a defining tale of the Christmas holiday. Scrooge’s catchphrase, “Bah, humbug!” is often used to express disgust with many of the modern Christmas traditions.

Was he really cheap? Or just frugal in a bad economy. What was the economy like in 1843? If it’s anything like now, I don’t blame him!

The Panic of 1837 was a financial crisis or market correction in the United States built on a speculative fever.[1] The end of the Second Bank of the United States had produced a period of runaway inflation, but on May 10, 1837 in New York City, every bank began to accept payment only in specie (gold and silver coinage), forcing a dramatic, deflationary backlash. This was based on the assumption by former president, Andrew Jackson, that the government was selling land for state bank notes of questionable value. The Panic was followed by a five-year depression, with the failure of banks and then-record-high unemployment levels.

The panic ended in 1843 which is when Dickens wrote A Christmas Carol. Maybe Scrooge was just being frugal, because of the depression in America.

Christmas has become a retail holiday, where retail stores empty their inventories on people who usually can’t afford it, or feel bad about what they have done, or neglected during the year, and think they can make it all up in one day.

It has almost lost the true religious meaning. (which I won’t go into, due to everyone’s different beliefs)

What has Christmas become? Do you really need 1lb of Reese’s cups, or a new multi-thousand dollar watch.

What about the children? Have you seen today’s, spoiled, fat, rotten il-mannered brats? The ones mommy won’t spank or discipline, so they run rampant everywhere they go. Most of these kids have tons of toys that they never touch and they just sit around for years collecting dust or until mommy gives them away, or donates them to charity.

Is it mommy’s fault? No! (well the unruly non disciplined part yes! Spoiled, No!) It’s the Media’s fault! Just as it is the Media’s fault about women’s body image (that’s also another story)

It’s Christmas! Buy, buy, buy! Have you ever seen a little kids Christmas list? They circle everything in the circular! If they were to get just one of those toys they would be thrilled! But, as parents in today’s society, they must have more! More then their friend down the block! More then the rest of the kids in school! More, more, more!

I’m guilty of spoiling my niece and nephew! More, more, more!

But, have you been to the stores this holiday season? They are somewhat busy, but nothing at all like past years! Retail is going to be in big trouble this year!

I was at the Garden State Plaza and the Bergen mall in NJ and I easily found a parking spot! The same thing goes for Walmart and Kmart! I go to the gym next to Kmart and usually the parking lot is packed, people waiting hours for parking spots. Not this year!!!

It is a definite reflection on today’s economy!

United States Unemployment Rate

The unemployment rate in the United States was last reported at 8.6 percent in November of 2011. From 1948 until 2010 the United States’ Unemployment Rate averaged 5.70 percent reaching an historical high of 10.80 percent in November of 1982 and a record low of 2.50 percent in May of 1953. The labour force is defined as the number of people employed plus the number unemployed but seeking work. The nonlabour force includes those who are not looking for work, those who are institutionalised and those serving in the military. This page includes: United States Unemployment Rate chart, historical data and news.

I have even heard numerous people claim their significant other doesn’t believe in Christmas! Not because of their religion, but because of what it has become!

I too do not like the situation! It’s the one time of year when everyone is fake! Walk down the street in NYC anytime of the year, beside Christmas! If you look at someone the wrong way they will tell you to fuck off, or some other profanity. During Christmas all those people are so sweet, Merry Christmas, and I hope you have a Merry Christmas. I want to say, no you don’t you fuckin liar! You don’t know me, you don’t give two shits about me! But…. No I just go with the flow and be nice. In the spirit of Christmas.

I believe you should be nice everyday! I think that if you see something that reminds you of someone you love, or is something that they cherish, buy it or make it. Small things that could be from a dollar store. It’s the thought that counts.

Everyday should be Christmas! Eg. Hey I know you like kettle corn and they had a sale on it and it reminded me of you, so I got it. Anything! Show your love daily! Don’t save it for one day of the year! And you don’t have to buy anything! Eg. Oh you worked a long day today on your feet all day, let me massage your feet honey… Etc.

Remember this article isn’t about religion, this is about, caring about people in your life, showing love and compassion. Not about the media and retail!

Don’t say, oh my kids know I love them, because we have a big house and I buy them everything they ever want! What they want is you and your love!

As far as parents go, I was blessed! And I truly feel bad for those who weren’t, and I hope that they can change their lives and change the situation for their children.

Don’t take anyone in your life for granted! If they are in your life tell them today, that you love them and appreciate them taking part in your life!

And if they aren’t worth it, get them out of your life and fill your life with people who are worth it! You are in charge of your destiny! And it’s never too late or too difficult to change it! You are never trapped!!

If you are reading this, I love you! Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read what I write! If you tell others about this site, again thank you for sharing!

Scientists to use Robot Snake to explore the remaining secrets of the Great Pyramid of Giza

Last secret door of Great Pyramid ‘to be opened in 2012’, says British company

  • ‘I am very confident we can resume our work in 2012’ – expedition leader
  • Will solve archaeological puzzle that has remained unsolved since 1872

The secret gates at the heart of the Great Pyramid may be opened for the first time in 2012, a British robot company believes – solving a mystery that has puzzled archaeologists since 1872.

Scoutek UK had already begun exploring behind the gates earlier this year – and produced the first-ever images from behind the gates using a ‘micro snake’ robot. But the exploration was halted by the recent unrest in Egypt.

Expedition leader Shaun Whitehead said, ‘I’m very confident we can resume work in 2012.’

Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities stopped granting permits for research such as the Djedi robotic exploration of the Great Pyramid.

But it has recently started granting permits again.

‘We’re still waiting for permission to return to the pyramid,’ Whitehead told Mail Online today. ‘In the meantime, we have been working on enhancing the robot.’

‘The main plan is to carefully survey and document the shafts, to gather as much information as possible to allow archaeologists to determine their purpose. We also still plan to look beyond the blocking stones at the ends of the shafts, if it is safe and practical to do so.’

The expedition is named Djedi after the magician who Khufu consulted while building the pyramid. It is a joint project founded by Dr Ng from Hong Kong University, and Scoutek UK, in cooperation with the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Egypt, Dassault Systèmes in France and the University of Leeds.

The four narrow shafts deep inside the 4,500-year-old Great Pyramid have puzzled archaeologists ever since they were first found in 1872.

The shafts are just eight inches across – and thus can’t be explored by human explorers. Many experts believe that the shaft was designed to provide an ‘exit’ for the Pharaoh’s spirit into.

Hieroglyphics such as this are common in pyramids. Now a camera has revealed other ancient markings in the Giza pyramidHieroglyphics such as this are common in pyramids. Now a camera has revealed other ancient markings in the Giza pyramid

The pyramid is the last of the seven wonders of the ancient world still standing, and is thought to have been built as a tomb for Pharoah Khufu, who ruled in the Fourth Egyptian Dynasty and died in 2566 BC.

Khufu had the Great Pyramid of Giza built as a monumental tomb, inside of which are tomb chambers, ante-rooms, chambers, ventilation shafts and access tunnels.

There are three main chambers: The King’s Chamber, the Queen’s Chamber and the Grand Gallery.

The King’s Chamber has two shafts connected to outside, but two tunnels from the Queen’s Chamber deep inside the widest part of the pyramid have two stone doors.

Some experts now believe this may indicate a secret chamber, further still within the pyramid.

Inside the chamber: The limestone ceiling of the Queens Chamber inside the Great Pyramid can be seen, but what lies beyond has puzzled EgyptologistsInside the chamber: The limestone ceiling of the Queens Chamber inside the Great Pyramid can be seen, but what lies beyond has puzzled Egyptologists

It is not the first time robots have been used within the pyramid to gather evidence about the inner depths of the structure.

In 1993 a robot discovered a small door set with metal pins, the first time any metal had been found inside the pyramid, igniting speculation that the pins were keys or door handles.

In 2002 a different robot filmed a small chamber blocked by a stone after managing to drill through the first stone block.

The latest robot, built by UK company Scoutek, is a ‘micro-snake’ armed with a camera, designed to explore small spaces.

Designer Whitehead also worked on sensors for the Beagle 2 Mars exploration craft.

The door which still puzzles experts can be seen to be polished, thanks to the bendy camera, marking it out as an important part of the structure rather than simply as something to stop debris entering the chamber, says camera designer Shaun Whitehead.

Egyptologist Kate Spence of Cambridge University says the tunnels may purely be symbolic and relate to the stars.

Although she is not involved directly in the study of the Giza pyramid, Spence does not believe there is a further, hidden chamber behind the door, suggesting instead that the shafts could have been built to allow the Pharoah’s spirit to cross to the afterlife.
Unlike the bullshit Show, Legend Quest, Where the host never finds anything, Archaeologists have turned to Scientists to help them finish their work using modern inventions. I am trying to get a career in a company that makes robotics, the advances in technology are astonishing.
BAE Systems Spiderbot:
The idea is to use it as a military/police breaching device (most military/police deaths (beside IED’s) occur when breaching a building, the doorway is called the fatal funnel. The spider can enter first equipped with multiple cameras, and can pinpoint the enemy, however it Will be attacked. I suggested they put a small explosive charge in it. In case it is destroyed, they can self-destruct it and take out the enemy or at least incapacitate them for the team to enter and neutralize the threat.

What’s Next?

IDK could be… although people are quirky and want to customize everything this generic looking robot wouldn’t fly….

Sony buys out Ericsson for 1.05 billion Euros, Was it a wise move? or will they fail miserably?

‘Less of a name change, more of a game change’: Sony buys out Ericsson for £875m

Sony CEO Howard Stringer said that the company would unveil new handsets under a new brand. Insiders expect the first handsets to appear next yearSony CEO Howard Stringer said that the company would unveil new handsets under a new brand. Insiders expect the first handsets to appear next year

Sony is set to unveil hi-tech new Sony phones that can connect to other Sony electronics in the home – working, for instance, as a remote control for stereos or TVs or even connecting to PlayStation 3 to download music, films and games.

Sony announced its ambitious plans after it severed its connection with Ericsson, buying out Ericsson’s 50 percent stake in Sony Ericsson for 1.05 billion Euros.

Sony CEO Sir Howard Stringer said that the move was ‘less of a name change, more of a game change,’ for the company.

He said that the company had not finalised what to call the new handsets.

‘We can more rapidly and more widely offer consumers smartphones, laptops, tablets and televisions that seamlessly connect with one another and open up new worlds of online entertainment,’ said Stringer.

‘This includes Sony’s own acclaimed network services, like the PlayStation Network and Sony Entertainment Network. We can help people enjoy all our content – from movies to music and games – through our many devices, in a way no one else can.’

Sony Corp is to buy full control of the Sony Ericsson mobile phone venture from its Swedish partner as it seeks to catch up on smartphone and tablet makers such as Apple and Samsung.

Comments from Stringer about not using ‘proprietary’ technology seem to suggest that the new devices will still run Google’s Android software.

But in recent years, Sony Ericsson’s handsets lost their innovative edge

Until now Sony’s tablets, games and other consumer electronics devices have been kept separate from the phones sold by Sony Ericsson.

Sony now has all the components to compete with Samsung and Apple. The big question now is … can it execute ?’, said Pete Cunningham of industry consultants Canalys.

Founded in 2001, Sony Ericsson initially thrived with an array of camera and music phones, but failed to keep pace with technology as phones entered the touchscreen era.

Sony’s attempts to revive the Walkman brand for phones were largely unsuccessful.

Recent handsets such as the tiny X10 Mini Pro were not huge hits for the company in a market where consumers demanded ever larger screensRecent handsets such as the tiny X10 Mini Pro were not huge hits for the company in a market where consumers demanded ever larger screens

‘Sony had to make this deal as it had run out of options, but integration challenges could prove to be a major hurdle,’ said Ben Wood, head of research at London-based mobile consultancy CCS Insight.

‘As a major consumer electronics player lack of mobile assets had become a liability for Sony, particularly when compared with Samsung, whose telecommunication business creates nearly half of its profits,’ Wood said.

Who was the brains behind Sony Ericsson? If it was Ericsson then the move was a bad one.

Was it Sony’s Idea or did Ericsson not want to be associated with Sony any longer due to the large holes in Sony’s Cyber Security?

Can Sony put out a product that Actually competes with Apple?

If the hackers can get into Sony’s network, since Sony wants a way to link all the devices with the new mobile line can the hackers get into the phone network and actually see what the camera sees? Taking Identity theft to the next level: personal and corporate Espionage!

Apple Looses Founding Father, Visionary and Genius! R.I.P. Steve Jobs

During the 80’s, 90’s  Steve Job’s Apple were a bunch of losers! They were always the bastard stepchild of computers, always second fiddle to Microsoft. The underground movement among Digital Arts professionals brought Apple to the forefront of business. Winning over the college age crowd, Apple has become a Monster and the pinnacle of quality! Steve Job’s Dream had come true, Apple is the best!

In the battle of Windows based machines vs Mac based machines, Apple still loses the battle, but I believe the only reason they are second is because they priced themselves out of the race. An average Mac Laptop is $1000.00 USD. Where you can get Windows based machines as little as $299.00 USD with the average around $599.00 USD. There is also a Ford vs. Chevy, AMD vs. Intel conflict between Apple vs. Microsoft, but that is only a small number of loyal fans, I believe the biggest deciding factor is price.

Loosing the Battle of Computers to Microsoft Apple does a genius move and Takes on Media Giant Sony Head to Head literally and Revolutionizes the World!

On October 23, 2001, Apple introduced the iPod digital music player.

This is Exactly the Monster I used to carry the Sony CD Walkman.
believe it or not young ones, we used to carry this and run the treadmill or outdoors.

Apple made the world go from that above to this below

Not only did they shrink the world of music they increased the capacity ridiculously.

It has evolved to include various models targeting the wants of different users. The iPod is the market leader in portable music players by a significant margin, with more than 220 million units shipped as of September 2009.[112] Apple has partnered with Nike to offer the Nike+iPod Sports Kit enabling runners to synchronize and monitor their runs with iTunes and the Nike+ website. Apple currently sells four variants of the iPod.

  • iPod Classic (previously named iPod from 2001 to 2007), portable media player first introduced in 2001, currently available in a 160 GB model.
  • iPod Nano, portable media player first introduced in 2005, currently available in 8 and 16 GB models. The newest generation has a FM radio, a pedometer, and a new multi-touch interface that replaced the traditional iPod click wheel.
  • iPod Shuffle, digital audio player first introduced in 2005, currently available in 2 and 4 GB models.
  • iPod Touch, portable media player that runs iOS, first introduced in September 2007 after the iPhone went on sale. Currently available in 8, 32, and 64 GB models. The latest generation features the Apple A4 processor, a Retina Display, and dual cameras on the front and back. The back camera allows video recording at 720p.

Now conquering the Personal Music Player Industry and creating their underground Computer movement Apple then Revolutionizes the World again!

They go head to head with Mobile Giants Nokia and Motorola

This was my Nextel, this phone was cool it had a button on the side that automatically flipped it open, but it is nothing compared to what was to come.

At the Macworld Conference & Expo in January 2007, Steve Jobs revealed the long anticipated[113] iPhone, a convergence of an Internet-enabled smartphone and iPod. The original iPhone combined a 2.5G quad band GSM and EDGE cellular phone with features found in hand held devices, running scaled-down versions of Apple’s Mac OS X (dubbed iOS, formerly iPhone OS), with various Mac OS X applications such as Safari and Mail. It also includes web-based and Dashboard apps such as Google Maps and Weather. The iPhone features a 3.5-inch (89 mm) touch screen display, 4, 8, or 16 GB of memory, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi (both “b” and “g”).[114] The iPhone first became available on June 29, 2007 for $499 (4 GB) and $599 (8 GB) with an AT&T contract.[115] On February 5, 2008, Apple updated the original iPhone to have 16 GB of memory, in addition to the 8 GB and 4 GB models.[116] On June 9, 2008, at WWDC 2008, Steve Jobs announced that the iPhone 3G would be available on July 11, 2008.[117] This version added support for 3G networking, assisted-GPS navigation, and a price cut to $199 for the 8 GB version, and $299 for the 16 GB version, which was available in both black and white. The new version was visually different from its predecessor in that it eliminated the flat silver back, and large antenna square for a curved glossy black or white back. Following complaints from many people, the headphone jack was changed from a recessed jack to a flush jack to be compatible with more styles of headphones. The software capabilities changed as well, with the release of the new iPhone came the release of Apple’s App Store; the store provided applications for download that were compatible with the iPhone. On April 24, 2009, the App Store surpassed one billion downloads.[118] On June 8, 2009, at Apple’s annual worldwide developers conference, the iPhone 3GS was announced, providing an incremental update to the device including faster internal components, support for faster 3G speeds, video recording capability, and voice control. On June 7, 2010, at WWDC 2010, the iPhone 4 was announced, which Apple says is its “‘biggest leap we’ve taken” since the original iPhone.[119] The phone includes an all-new design, 960×640 display, Apple’s A4 processor used in the iPad, a gyroscope for enhanced gaming, 5MP camera with LED flash, front-facing VGA camera and FaceTime video calling. Shortly after the release of the iPhone 4, it was realized by consumers that the new iPhone had reception issues. This is due to the stainless steel band around the edge of the device, which also serves as the phones cellular signal and Wi-Fi antenna. The current fix for this issue was a “Bumper Case” for the phone distributed for free to all iPhone 4 owners for a few months. In June 2011, Apple overtook Nokia to become the world’s biggest smartphone maker by volume

Apple did it! They conquered two Industries!

Although the screen is delicate, support from other companies like Otterbox makes this product almost bulletproof!

Yesterday, Apple released the 4S which fell short of expectations and actually just caught them up with Google’s Android Phones.
I do believe when the IPhone 5 is released it will solidify Apple’s hold of Number 1.

Best iPhone 4S Features

1. Siri:Not creeped out by the idea of having a conversation with your phone? The Siri application can apparently not just hear what you’re asking, but also comprehend it intelligently. So if you say ‘Any good burger joints around here?’, the utility should reply along the lines of ‘I found a number of burger restaurants near you.’ Hit back with a ‘How about tacos?’ and Siri will remember the context of your previous query and look for Mexican eateries in the area. If that isn’t eerie enough, the software is supposedly built to keep questioning you till it finds what you were searching for.

8MP Camera iPhone 4S 2. 8MP camera: Those who’ve been moaning about cameras on iDevices not being up to scratch as compared to smartphones in its league can give it break. Apple’s finally upped the megapixels on this one and fitted it with an 8MP camera. The snapper is supported by AF, tap to focus, face detection in stills and LED flash. As for videos, it is capable of capturing 1,080p HD clips at up to 30fps. The backside illumination sensor has been coddled with more attention and the custom lens proudly boasts of a large f/2.4 aperture now. Place this against the 5MP AF camera on the iPhone 4 which could only shoot at up to 720p resolutions, if you please.

Apple A5 Chip 3. A5 chip: Taking the processing muscle up by a notch, the iPhone 4S embeds a 1GHz dual core A5 chip. And Apple wants you to take their word for it when they say that the CPU drives graphics up to seven times quicker. More processing power should also mean a zippier iPhone whether it’s for web browsing or mobile gaming. Feel free to call it the ‘most powerful iPhone processor ever’, Apple. It’s not like you’ve got an A6 in hand as yet. Not that the company would claim otherwise, but the A5 is engineered to be noticeably energy efficient and work with iOS 5 to deliver a battery life which can sit through up to 8 hours of 3G talk time.

64GB Storage iPhone 4S 4. Up to 64GB storage: Among the things you couldn’t separate from the iPhone apart from the battery cover and snobbish appeal, is the memory capacity. The lack of a microSD card slot for expanding the hoarding space may have troubled at least a handful of users. The developer folks at Cupertino have changed their minds about the maximum amount of storage you’d need as an iPhone 4S user. The 32GB memory cap has been raised to 64GB. So now you can grab the next generation iPhone with 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of memory. And if it was a smaller capacity iPhone you were hankering after for whatever odd reason, you’ll have to make do with an 8GB iPhone 4.

iOS 5 iCloud iOS 5 and iCloud: We know, iOS 5 and iCloud shouldn’t exactly show up on a best iPhone 4S features list owing to the fact that they aren’t characteristic of the iPhone 4S. But it’s great that you don’t have to be tethered to a cable any more for syncing or backing up content on your iDevices with iCloud. As for iOS 5, it is claimed to bring in around 200 new features. There’s a fresh Notifications Center, ‘BBMish’ iMessage and deep integration of Twitter to start with.

Apple also conquered a 3rd Industry, the Computer Tablet industry with the advent of the IPad (Although the name is terrible sounds like a female hygiene product)

On January 27, 2010, Apple introduced their much-anticipated media tablet, the iPad running a modified version of iOS. It offers multi-touch interaction with multimedia formats including newspapers, magazines, ebooks, textbooks, photos, movies, TV shows videos, music, word processing documents, spreadsheets, video games, and most existing iPhone apps.[107] It also includes a mobile version of Safari for web browsing, as well as access to the App Store, iTunes Library, iBooks Store, contacts, and notepad. Content is downloadable via Wi-Fi and optional 3G service or synced through the user’s computer.[108] AT&T was initially the sole US provider of 3G wireless access for the iPad.[109] On March 2, 2011, Apple introduced an updated iPad model which had a faster processor and two cameras on the front and back respectively. The iPad 2 also added support for optional 3G service provided by Verizon in addition to the existing offering by AT&T.

What Technology have we potentially lost today? Where will the future lead us?

Apple will continue to lead us there. Thanks to visionaries: Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne.

  • Latest test saw SpaceShipTwo deploy its twin tail sections in a way to allow it to gently return to Earth’s atmosphere from the vacuum of space

After plunging towards Earth at a near-vertical angle, Virgin Galactic’s SpaceShipTwo completed its latest test flight as plans to send tourists into space edged ever closer.

The ‘maiden feathered flight’ of SpaceShipTwo saw the rocket bend its wings into a near-right angle landing position after descending from 52,000ft.

SpaceShipTwo was lifted 6,000ft higher than during its last test flight in October, before an 11-minute descent demonstration which included 75 seconds in its ‘feathered’ mode.

The craft deployed its twin tail sections to allow for a gentle return to Earth’s atmosphere

As SpaceShipTwo descended almost vertically through the sky, it was slowed by the drag of the folded tail, similar to the way feathers slow a badminton shuttlecock.

Virgin Galactic’s rocket plane deployed its twin tail sections in a position created to allow it a soft return to the Earth’s atmosphere from the vacuum of space.

The craft, which was captured by ground photographers with high-powered telescopes, descends at 15,500ft per minute in its near-vertical state.

During the test, SpaceShipTwo did not fire its rocket engine for a climb into space. Instead, a mothership lifted it to 52,000 feet where it was released.

It then rotated its twin tail booms upward 65 degrees during the test flight yesterday in the Mojave Desert, California, Virgin Galactic said.

The latest test was hailed as a success by experts, with Will Pomerantz, Virgin Galactic vice president for special projects, tweeting soon after: ‘What an awesome way to start the day. SpaceShipTwo looked positively beautiful today on her maiden feathered flight!’

The reconfiguration will be a critical part of the spaceship’s descent through Earth’s atmosphere after suborbital trips into space.

At 34,000 feet, pilots returned SpaceShipTwo to its normal configuration and landed it like an airplane.
The demonstration from release to touchdown lasted 11 minutes, including 75 seconds in the ‘feathered’ mode.

‘It flew stably,’ said Virgin Galactic chief executive George Whitesides.

SpaceShipTwo is based on Burt Rutan’s award-winning SpaceShipOne prototype, which became the first privately financed manned rocket to reach space in 2004.

Rutan retired last month from Scaled Composites, a company he founded that built and is testing SpaceShipTwo for Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic.

SpaceShipTwo’s unique re-entry has been touted by aerospace experts as a way to overcome the problem of searing heat that other types of spacecraft face when they plunge back into the atmosphere at high speed.

NASA’s space shuttles need a layer of thermal tiles and Russia’s Soyuz rockets employ heat shields to insulate against damage during re-entry.

Another key test for SpaceShipTwo will come when engineers start powered flights into space, expected sometime this year.

Until now, all the tests have been unpowered glide flights.

No date has been set for the first commercial flight from a custom-built spaceport in New Mexico.

Some 410 people have paid the full $200,000 or a deposit for a chance to experience a few minutes of weightlessness, according to Virgin Galactic.

WOW! Space the Final Frontier, Finally coming true for a few rich people in the world. At $200,000 a flight, that puts it just slightly out of my price range lol. Will this lead to major advances in technology? Will NASA adapt the technology? Will others follow? Will this lead to affordable prices in my lifetime? This is indeed a very big deal! A World changing event! A life changing event. This proves that dreams really do come true and that if you put your mind to it (it helps to have a bunch of geniuses helping you, and a boat load of cash lol) that you can accomplish anything! Let this event change your life and change your way of thinking. Anything can be done if you want it bad enough! This is proof!
