Freedom, Business, Controversy and Fitness

Events: NBC NY Giants health and fitness fair

Coming Soon!

They should be ashamed of themselves! Health and Fitness fair and the only food being served was hot dogs, sausage and cheese steaks! Basically Football/Carnival unhealthy food!

They didn’t even have any supplement vendors at all! No protein or protein bar samples nothing!

The only cool thing I liked is they had a TENS Unit company

(TENS) Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) is the use of electric current produced by a device to stimulate the nerves for therapeutic purposes. TENS by definition covers the complete range of transcutaneously applied currents used for nerve excitation although the term is often used with a more restrictive intent, namely to describe the kind of pulses produced by portable stimulators used to treat pain.[1] The unit is usually connected to the skin using two or more electrodes. A typical battery-operated TENS unit is able to modulate pulse width, frequency and intensity. Generally TENS is applied at high frequency (>50 Hz) with an intensity below motor contraction (sensory intensity) or low frequency (<10 Hz) with an intensity that produces motor contraction.[2] The benefit of TENS for pain is controversial.

I have the ISMART 2 unit (looks like an iPod) I believe there is a posting here about it! Check it out!

Anyway, they sold a pair of sandals for the unit they plug in to the unit instead of the sticky pads for a nice foot massage. I tried it and I don't feel it at all in my feet. However the lower part of my calves not the big ball like muscle part, but the skinny part above the ankle which on me is usually very tight, gets a great massage from these sandals. I hope it helps cut down on knee pain which I believe is associated with excess cardio workouts! We will see over the next few days how they workout if they are great I may make a separate posting for them!

There was also a company that makes pain cream kinda like Bengay and sports cream but it isn't greasy and it doesn't smell. Is it better than my favorite Cryogel (reviewed here) that's yet to be seen! (I haven't tried it yet lol). The company is Waterjel and the product is Muscle Jel – is Muscle Jel the bomb? We will find out and if its awesome look for its own post here!

They did have a few NY Giants Greats!

Eli Manning

Phil Simms

Remember him from Top Chef? He was cooking Salmon when I was there.

I have been using the Tens Unit sandals daily and they have helped with leg fatigue from extended running.
