Product Review: Elevation Training Mask 2.0 *

I have been trying to get in touch with the Makers of the Elevation Training Mask, but they suck at returning emails…

I am a Certified Master Fitness Instructor, former Army Pt Instructor and Current Air Force PTL – Physical Training Leader. I am also a 25yr Practioner of multiple forms of martial arts. I believe this product might be the missing link a lot of borderline failures of any Military PT test need to successfully pass the test. Furthermore, I believe it could help borderline passing troops to kick ass on the test.

I want to review this mask bad!

** All Training Mask 2.0’s come with the head strap

Training Mask 2.0 has been a work in progress for over 2 years. We have asked our customers of Training Mask 1.0 to give us their feedback and what they would want to see in 2.0. With great feedback from test marketing and direct responses we have made Training Mask 2.0 smaller, lighter and more comfortable. Training Mask 2.0 gives the end user a redesigned look and feel along with the resistance levels that they desire

Elevation Training Mask mimics the effects of High Altitude Training. When elite athletes want to improve their performance they go to high altitude levels to train. When they come back to sea level they perform much stronger, faster, and have increased endurance.

Training Mask 2.0 makes your work out more efficient allowing you to take your work out from 60 minutes to 20 minutes. From the average daily walker to the marathon runner, Training Mask 2.0 appeals to every athlete who wants to improve their overall health and performance.

We have changed the look!

It started with the first version made from an Israeli civilian gas mask and has been completedly revamped and remolded into Training Mask 2.0. We have gotten away from the eye pieces, hardened straps, and overall gas mask look. With reconstruction of an entirely new mask mould, and neoprene that is stretched over the rubber resistance mask, and caps give Training Mask 2.0 a smooth, sleek look and comfortable feel.

Training Mask 2.0 is held on the face with a comfortable neoprene strap that over lays the air tight silicone piece that rests against the face. The neoprene strap is held onto the mask by 3 “Resistance caps”. The resistance caps make for a nice snug fit against the neoprene and hold the neoprene in place acting as a “post” against the silicone that rests on your face.

Training Mask 2.0 is a less aggressive looking approach to working out while still getting the aggressive workout that one desires. With Training Mask 2.0 you do not have claustrophobia like feeling nor will you have to worry about vision problems while training. Our snap and go resistance nose pieces are truely revolutionary as it makes the ease of use that much easier.

The science behind the mask!

After extensive research and clinical testing from the UNIVERSITY OF NAIT the Training Mask 2.0 has made remarkable advancement in the fitness and training industry. Training Mask 2.0 takes all the amazing “Diaphragm Resistance Technology” from Training Mask 1.0 and compiles it into a less obtrusive, amazingly comfortable silicone mask that fits over the nose and mouth.

The Elevation Training Mask 2.0 is the ultimate respiratory training device.

Our multi-level resistance system reduces air flow through our patent pending flux valve system. Training Mask 2.0 promotes increased lung capacity by forcing you to inhale fuller deeper breaths. When your body adapts to the resistance your lungs will be trained to take deeper breaths and use oxygen more efficiently. A short explanation of how this works is simple. When you breathe against resistance the lining in the lungs essentially stretches out allowing the alveoli’s surface area to become “stretched” thus in return allows for more blood flow to the alveoli for more (oxygen transportation). When you increase “surface area” you increase red blood cell count that will be able to carry more oxygen out to the extremities

While using Training Mask 2.0 the conditioning of your lungs significantly increases along with endurance and diaphragm strength. Training Mask 2.0 will benefit your respiratory system as your overall cardio and endurance will improve with continued use.

**There are many breathing devices and respiratory trainers used by hundreds of elite athletes for sports performance and by other users for health and fitness. Some of these devices are invented to increase strength of the respiratory muscles. Numerous clinical trials have found that these devices can increase endurance and VO2max (maximum oxygen absorption during most intensive exercise), improve lung function tests (VEF, PEF, FVC, and VEmax), lower heart rate for the same load, reduce medication (drugs) and symptoms, improve quality of life scores and lead to other beneficial health effects.

**Furthermore, with correct applications, breathing devices can increase body oxygen levels and produce profound effects on long term endurance, VO2max, duration of recovery from injuries and intensive training, together with life quality effects related to sleep, energy level and digestion. This review is focused on these oxygen-related effects of various breathing techniques.

Altitude resistance and Training Mask 2.0 ?

There are various “Resistance Breathing” elevations with Training Mask 2.0 “Breathing Resistances” are simulated

resistances that are “maching” how hard it would actually be to breath in (3,000 | 6,000ft | 9,000ft | 12,000 | 15,000ft | 18,000 Ft. in “ALTITUDE RESISTANCES”. Training Mask 2.0 does not “change on the o2 molecular level” however your bod y does make adaptations for this “Simulation” to be considered “Altitude Training” also known as the “BOHR EFFECT”

Training Mask 2.0 is completely washable!

We have constructed the Training Mask 2.0 out of high grade neoprene as well as high quality printing that is able to with stand outdoor training, rain or shine, or any other weather condition that may have been keeping you away from training at your peak performance. That’s 3 former champs…

American Pride

Even a couple sleeves for Badass girls! I bet crossfit girls would wear these! I Love crossfit girls!!!

Spidey and more…..

The Elevation Training Mask 2.0 is an incredible invention. The original mask mimicked a gas mask, it had cool shock value, but an embarrassing stigma when working out in a conventional gym.

The eye pieces also tended to fog…

The 2.0 however, removed the eye pieces, and with it the stigma, and made the outer cover removable neoprene instead of rubber, which allows for easy washing and drying, no fear of mold! Once removed the rubber mouthpiece can be easily cleaned! The amount of filters allows for better control and slower acclimation, which makes it easier to build up and adapt.

I can’t wait to get my hands on the 2.0!

I hope they get back to me soon! Stay Tuned!

Still no contact beside an auto response and sale emails about a limited edition hoodie (which is neon green with marine corps sergeant stripes on sleeves, why I don’t know) and a limited edition tshirt for $5… How bout a little customer service first…

Tues Mar 5th still no contact from the company!
Tues Mar 19th Contacted them again…Still no contact!

Finally a response (and a rude one at that!)

Sir this is not a customer service issue. We are currently not interested in having the product reviewed since we now have clinical studies that support our claims.

TRAINING MASK- “We bring the Elevation to you”

The powers that be have reconsidered and are allowing me to review the mask! Like I stated earlier, I believe this mask can make the difference between many many Soldiers, Airmen, Seamen and Marines either failing or borderline passing and blowing the pt test out of the water!

They promised to send me one, but still haven’t received it yet!!

**Update** January 13th 2014

The absolute worst customer service department! They promised to send me a unit for review and never did and have since ignored every email attempt sent since! Not even a response, but keep spamming my email with sales and new product updates! If I would have received the product review I probably would have purchased a few different cool looking skins and a few T-shirts that were cool! Instead they fill me with dislike for the company with their broken promise!

I believed their product could help struggling military troops pass their pt tests and ultimately save their careers; but they don’t care!

Omg this is the stupidest thing I’ve seen people or should I say wanna be’s use in the gym! Learn how to squat properly, sprint faster, jump higher, fix your eating habits and overall become an actual athlete before you even consider something like that…lmaaoo..smh…lol
    What fools, huh?!?

    • I disagree, as you said sprint faster, jump higher. What the mask does is increase your VO2 max. It increases lung capacity and blood oxygen content making your cardio endurance better. So by wearing it you get better.

Ok, first of all, I know what this mask “do” make the average Joe and Jane feel cool! Lmaoo
Elite athletes like chrissy wellington have been training in Nepal for her insane ironman races..etc. Now, let’s steer the gps towards America and what you see?! Bunch of weekend party goers, back in the gym with this stupid mask on a Monday ..lmaoo.. why?! Cuz it’s nothing but a trend! Dude, everybody trying sooo hard to be cool in the gym! people! U do not need some stupid mask for you to excel! Learn your mechanics first, learn to activate your mind connection to your workouts, thats what you truly need..

    Ugh, #cant

    • Buy me a plane ticket to Nepal and I’ll gladly go, let’s bring the Dalai Lama home too while we are at it! That’s not going to happen anytime soon… But I can wear the mask and get the benefits of Nepal without leaving NJ and it helps with cardio endurance during Jiu Jitsu and military pt tests and I won’t freeze my balls off or fall off one of the Himalayan mountains to my death…

Was waiting for u to say that! Buy me a ticket! Let me tell you, think bout a bit, even if the average Joe has given a ticket to Nepal to train, you think he’s gonna have balls to go!? Meaning u think he’s gonna have the heart to drop everything and sacrifice sooo much And train like a mutha f*cker because that’s what he truly wants?!? Yeaaahhh, we both know that’s not gonna happen! So, why the heck you gonna put on some stupid mask and fool yourself? It’s pointless!

When you actually have the balls to freeze your balls and not afraid of mountains and alllll the bad conditions(cry me a river, sarcasm inserted) then you have no business in any kinda training snd certainly not some damn mask either. It takes a special person with a lion heart to endure alll that!!!

    • You’re preaching to the choir… I’m military of 2 branches, soon to be 3…

The average person as you call them, look at me like I’m a weirdo for testing the product. I have seen benefits from wearing it! At first it was super hard to breathe and my nose would stuff up, my eyes would water and I would get a headache from the oxygen deprivation and that was at the 3,000ft setting. I just upped it to 12,000ft out of 18,000ft lets see if I get the same symptoms tomorrow! I’m sure I will, I got it every time I upped the level.
